Forces of Nature - Caravan Clean up.
This week we hosted some of the lovely members of the Veterans Shed Conwy and WRAC while they started the first task in our on going project Forces of Nature.
This week saw our veterans pull up their sleeves, pop on their marigolds and get scrubbing as they worked together clean up an old caravan loaned to the project. This gives our guests a warm place to stop for a cuppa and a chat during their day visits. In the future we hope to create a more permanent base but for now this is a great alternative.
After scrubbing the van inside and out we stopped for a bite to eat while we discussed our future goals and projects we would like to start work on in the near future. A great time was had by all and we look forward to seeing them again next week when our adventure continues.
Veterans Shed Conwy do some great work in the local community supported by Mens Shed and CVSC Conwy and have already undertaken lots of voluntary roles within the local area. Over Easter half term our teenage son Jay spent some time with them in their workshops with Crest Cooperative . Jay is taking construction and engineering as part of his exams so this was a fantastic oppertunity for him to get some work experience in a realistic environment. He had a great time learned lots and really enjoyed spending time chatting with the Veterans and getting to know them better. We really appreciate that they took him under their wing and he's really looking forward to working with them again soon.
We would like to Thank all the members of Veterans Shed Conwy for their hard work and commitment in getting the Forces of Nature project off to such a great start. We are looking forward to watching the project develop into something amazing that we can all be proud of and enjoy.
