Events with a difference at local theatres in January 2019

During your stay at Pen-y-Bryn Farm, go along to one of our local theatres to try something a little different. Alongside the ever-popular stage shows that run every year, you can take part in a workshop or be part of an audience with a celebrity speaker. What better way to start the new year than by making memories with your loved ones? The following are just a few suggestions from the many events taking place in January and beyond.

This year, Harlequin Puppet Theatre's annual Christmas show is Aladdin and his wonderful lamp, which will run until the 5th of January 2019. The show is at 3pm daily and also features the Christmas Magic Tricks of Mr Bamboozle. Puppeteer Chris Somerville creates and performs each magical show and has delighted audiences for decades. For more information about Chris, his marionettes and the Harlequin Puppet Theatre which was the first British theatre built specifically for puppets, please click here to visit the website.

Theatr Colwyn will be hosting the annual North Wales Burlesque and Cabaret Festival (NWBCF), which returns for its 5th year, from the 25th to 26th January 2019. Featuring top burlesque acts and cabaret talent from around the globe as well as a series of fun workshops and a choreography masterclass with burlesque legend Aurora Galore. On the 26th of January 2019, and on further dates until April, Venue Cymru will play host to Young Creatives who run creative dance workshops for parents and their children to spend time together doing something different.
