Celebrate St David's Day With Pen-y-Bryn Farm


St David's Day will be celebrated across Wales on the 1st of March. Spend a few days with us at Pen-y-Bryn Farm and find out all about the Patron Saint of Wales. The following are a few suggestions of ways to celebrate on this Welsh day of national pride.

Colwyn Bay's St David's Day Parade will take place on the 1st of March and is just a short 20 minute drive from Pen-y-Bryn Farm. The parade will be led by over 800 local school children who will be dressed in national costume. Expect to see red shawls, black chimney hats, daffodils, Welsh dragon's and even a few leeks! The procession will begin at 10am on Queen's Drive, Colwyn Bay, LL29 7BH. A St David’s Day concert follows at St Paul's Church with pupils performing a variety of recitals, song and dance. Conwy Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be open to the public with no entry fees on St David's Day this year. CADW, the Welsh Government's Historic Environment Service, is encouraging everyone to learn about the heritage of the Welsh people by opening its doors across Wales. St David's Hospice in Llandudno is hosting two events to raise money that will benefit the Hospice. There will be a coffee morning held at St David's Hospice on Saturday the 4th of March from 10am until 1pm. Entry is £2 which includes a cup of tea or coffee and a welsh cake. There will be stalls selling a variety of Welsh gifts, jewellery, accessories and refreshments. For more information, please click here to visit the website.

A Celebration of Wales Concert will also take place on the 4th of March in aid of St David's Hospice. Tickets are priced at £10 each and the concert will run from 7.30-9.30pm.
