Have A Spook-tacular Halloween During Your Stay At Pen-y-Bryn Farm


Halloween is the perfect time to visit us in North Wales. With so many activities to choose from, and all of the best ones taking place in atmospheric castles with spooky histories, we're sure our list of castles to visit on and around Halloween will have something to offer you and your family frights and delights.

Just a 20 minute drive from Pen-y-Bryn sits Bodelwyddan Castle. This year their Halloween Ghost Walk will take place on the 29th, 30th and 31st of October, with walks taking place from 6-8pm or 7-9pm.

Their website says: 'See Bodelwyddan Castle in a different light, on a guided ghost walk around the historic rooms, with the opportunity to use some paranormal equipment and conduct a mini ghost hunt in the cellar - an area usually locked off to visitors! Light refreshments also included. We do not fabricate anything on this event.'

Also a short 20 minute drive away from us is Rhuddlan Castle. On the 31st of October, their will be a Halloween event, with a prize for the first 200 children taking part.

Taking place from 11am to 4pm, this event promises to be fun for all the family. With a selection of Halloween themed crafts and a spooky quiz for all, your visit to Rhuddlan Castle will certainly be a day to remember.

A 30 minute drive from our holiday cottages, Denbigh Castle is also offering a spooky event on Halloween with a prize for the first 150 children taking part.

Join the team at Denbigh Castle for a Halloween-themed trail. Get the whole family involved for a day of thrills and chills. What better way to have a fun-filled family day out and see some local history, too!

Admission costs £3.50 for adults; A family ticket is £10.50 (which admits 2 adults and all children under 16); £2.65 for senior citizens, students and children under 16; Admission is free to members and also to disabled people with a companion. At just over a 30 minute drive away from us, there are some seriously spooky goings on at Penrhyn Castle.

Taking place on the 30th and 31st October are The Boggle (12pm) and Shapeshifter (2pm). The website says 'Journey with us into the a world of strange creatures and magical tales this Halloween weekend. See mysterious creatures brought to life through puppetry and performance, and play a hand in deciding their fate.

Caernarfon Castle, which is a 40 minute drive from Pen-y-Bryn Farm, will be holding their Halloween event on the 31st October 2015 from 11am to 4pm. There will be a prize given to the first 150 children taking part.

Dress up in your Halloween finery and head over to Caernarfon Castle for a fun packed day to celebrate Halloween. The website says 'Join a Halloween-themed trail at Caernarfon Castle for a day of thrills and chills.'

Admission costs £6.75 for adults; A family ticket is £20.25 (which admits 2 adults and all children under 16); £5.10 for senior citizens, students and children under 16; Admission is free to members and also to disabled people with a companion.
