5 Of The Best CAMRA Recommended Local Pubs


Pubs across North Wales have once again proved a hit with CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale) who are continuing to add to their selection of great pubs with a superb selection of real ales. Twenty new pubs have been added across the region, bringing North Wales' total to 88 pubs that are featured in the Good Beer Guide 2018. The following are a taste of 5 of the pubs that are local to us that made it into CAMRA's 45th edition of the Good Beer Guide. All of the pubs mentioned are within a 20 to 30 minute drive of Pen-y-Bryn Farm & Holiday Cottages.

  • The Bay Hop in Colwyn Bay is open every evening except Mondays, they serve a wide range of real ales, ciders and rare beer from Wales and around the world.   • The Liverpool Arms sits on Conwy waterfront with breathtaking views of the estuary and Conwy Castle. It boasts the largest beer garden in Wales which stretches along Conwy Quay.   • Bar 236 in Prestatyn source their ales from award winning micro breweries and make all of their cocktails from scratch. They also offer a quirky menu full of specialist hot dogs, Pieminster Pies and other traditional, home made light bites. Food is served from Wednesday to Sunday.   • The King's Head in Llandudno is situated at the foot of the Great Orme Tramway. Open 7 days a week, this family and pet friendly pub offers a selection of home made food, tapas, traditional pub classics and Sunday roasts. Booking is advisable but walk-ins are welcome.
