A Warm Welcome Awaits You At Heather Cottage

Welcome to Heather Cottage at Pen-y-Bryn Farm. The Farm is no longer a working farm, although there are lots of farm animals that are kept as pets and a local farmer rents one of the fields for his herd of sheep. Guests are warmly invited to explore our land and take in the views, meet the animals and relax by the duck pond and wildlife ponds. Picnic benches and seats can be found all over our land and we invite you to make good use of them! There is even a field for the children to run around on next to the cottages and duck pond.

As you walk into Heather cottage, you will see the whole of the downstairs laid out before you. The open plan living area is perfectly arranged to allow your family the best use of the space and you will always find fresh flowers to greet you upon arrival. The living room has a three seater sofa and two arm chairs with extra cushions provided for your comfort. There is a TV which has Freeview installed, a nest of tables with coasters and a large rug completes the space.

The entire cottage has beautiful real wood floors and window sills. The cupboard under the stairs has coat hooks, sweeping brushes, a mop and bucket, an iron, ironing board and a clothes airer. You will also find a basket under the television table which contains information on local places to visit, a colouring book and even a handful of novels to read at your leisure.

The dining area has a dining table and chairs and a handy kitchen trolley with tea towels, table cloths and place mats. This is alongside the fitted kitchen which has everything you would find in your own kitchen at home. When you arrive at Heather Cottage, you will find a welcome gift of Welsh cakes, butter and jam, plus the tea, coffee, milk and sugar to go with it.

Your welcome pack provides you with all the information you will need including local emergency telephone numbers, maps of the farm and instructions for the use of the cooker and central heating. Hot water is always available in each of the properties and a first aid box, candles and a torch can be found in the kitchen.

Heather Cottage has three bedrooms – one double room, one twin room and one single room. If you require a cot, we can provide a travel cot for you or you are welcome to bring your own. Each bedroom is made up for you with bedding provided. We also provide you with a towel bale per guest which consists of a face cloth, hand towel and bath towel.

The bathroom has a large shower, a toilet and a sink. There is a mirror above the sink and a plug for electric shavers. A bath mat and pedestal is provided alongside a soap dispenser and tooth brush holder. The bathroom also has a skylight which can be opened to allow fresh air to circulate.

Outside each cottage you will find a picnic bench and a barbecue on the terrace. There is ample parking for all guests and the car park is covered by security cameras. The duck pond is at the side of the cottages and again there are plenty of places to sit to enjoy a picnic or just to relax and enjoy your surroundings.

A washing machine and tumble dryer are available for the use of all guests. The machines can be found to the rear of the cottages in the laundry room. Each machine is run on a timer and the instructions and prices charged per wash/dry are displayed above the machines. A standard wash and dry cost £2 each. Washing powder and fabric softener are located on the shelves next to the machines.
