Here are some of our favourite local Epic Adventures for you to enjoy when you stay at Pen y Bryn Farm and holiday cottages. Run the Clwydian range The Clwydian range of hills and mountains have some fantastic trails to explore. Running from Prestatyn to Llandegla the highest point being Moel Famu its a designated are of outstanding natural beauty! Make sure you pack your camera and you will be rewarded with some amazing shots. 

Explore the offas dyke path Starting in Prestatyn and running for 177 miles along the English/Welsh border the Offas Dyke path is a well signposted national trail with stunning views over the rolling Welsh countryside and coast. So lace up your boots, pack up your bag and get out there! 

Climb mount Snowdon. With many paths varying in difficulty and even a train to the summit, a trip up Mount Snowdon is achievable for anyone! Follow the train track up the Llanberris path and stop at the cafe half way up for refreshments, tackle the ragers path or the miners track or for the more experienced adventure seekers take on one of the more challenging routes over Crib goch or the Watkin path. Whatever route you choose, be prepared for an amazing experience. 

Ride the North Wales Coastal route. One of the fabulous things about North Wales is our Coastline. And what better way to take in the sights and sounds of the shore than a walk or a ride along the North Wales Coastal path? Hugging the shoreline from Queensferry to Chepstow with lots of hidden gems along the route you can pick up the path just 3 miles from our door. - Dont have a bike? Why not hire an electric bike or pushbike from one of our local cycle shops? 

Reach great heights when you take on the worlds fastest Zip wire. Experience the worlds fastest zipline and enjoy panoramic views from 500ft up. Travel at 100 miles per hour for over 1555 metres Solo or as part of a group of 4! If that sounds a little too extreme try the little zipper or fforest coaster. An unforgettable experience. Ski down the great orme. Looking out over the coast of Llandudno the great orme is home to Llandudnos very own dry ski slope! You can book slots for traditional skiiing, snowboarding, taboganning or tubing. You can hire all the kit on site and book lessons so it doesn't matter if your a pro or total beginner there will always be something fun to try. 

Take a dip in the Sea. Colwyn Bay watersports centre is located at Porth Erias on the coast at Colwyn bay and offers a huge selection of water based activities including Sailing, Powerboating, Windsurfing and Kayaking. With regular taster sessions and Tuition available you can get involved even if you have no prior experience.  

Discover the Welsh Castles. 

Throughout the centuries North Wales has been home to over 600 Castles according to historians. Around 100 of these are still standing accross the country either as ruins or restored buildings. Each with their own unique history to discover these Welsh landmarks are well loved by both locals and visitors from all over the world. The closest to us is Gwrych Castle which watches over Abergele on the edge of Tan y Gopa woods and makes a great place to visit when walking from Pen y Bryn.

Blow off some steam at Bounce below. Jump and slide your way through a disused mine on an epic underground adventure playground. Bounce below is a netted underground play area incorporating giant trampolines and slides in a disused mine. A great adventure for the little people in your group and lots of fun for the grown ups too! For ages 7 and up. Max weight 120kg. Go Below with a Caving challenge.
