Smash your PB with an event in North Wales in 2019

Here at Pen-y-Bryn Farm, we love to attend local races and have squashed our own PB (Personal Best) times at a few events this year! Throughout 2019, come and stay with us and set yourself a challenge to complete a course on your own or with loved ones. The following are a selection of the local events taking place in early 2019, each one taking in the breathtaking natural beauty that we are lucky enough to be surrounded by all year long. What a great way to make a start on those New Year's Resolutions!

Around a 40 minute drive from Pen-y-Bryn Farm, an event for the whole family takes place on Sunday the 13th of January 2019. Keen cyclists can take part in a North Wales Cyclocross Event which consists of an under 8's Fun Race, Under 8/10/12 Races which take around 20 minutes, a 30 minute Youth Race and a 60 minute Senior Race. Each Cyclocross Course includes a variety of surfaces such as grass, mud, sand, gravel and tarmac, and often loops around with tight twisting turns. The first race begins at 11.30 am. For more information about this event, which must be booked online in advance for most races, please click here to visit the website.

This year, the Rhyl 10 Mile Race and Fun Run will take place on Saturday 23rd February 2019. The fun run starts at 9.15 am and tickets cost £3. Children aged under 9 years old must be accompanied by an adult. The main event, the 10 mile run, will start at 10am and tickets cost £24 (affiliated) or £26 (unaffiliated). On the 31st of March 2019, Always Aim High Events will be hosting the brand new Conwy Marathon. Starting at Llandudno Promenade, which is less than a 30 minute drive from our holiday cottages, the running route will take in the stunning Great Orme, go past the Conwy Castle World Heritage Site, and on to the beautiful Colwyn Bay Promenade and will then turn back and go along the beach front and will end back in Llandudno.
