Family Holiday Diary - Part Four
May 5, 2016
This blog is the fourth in our 6 part series. Please click to read the other instalments: One, Two, Three.
The girls request The Bull Hotel for lunch so after our morning walk to feed the animals we all get ready to go. The bathroom in the cottage has a large shower. It's easy to use and easy to change the temperature if you need to. We're out of the door an hour later and we're all looking forward to our lunch. Once again, Jamie's cooking hits the spot! Spaghetti bolognese for two of the girls and chicken nuggets for our eldest. I had the blue cheese burger again and Dave had chilli. Everything was cooked to perfection and the atmosphere is lovely. Tomorrow night we are going to come back here with my parents who are joining us for two nights.
The children are enjoying feeding the animals so much that we decide to take them to Manorafon Farm Park. It's only a short drive away from the cottage. It's fairly quiet as the local children are back in school this week. Entry costs £3.50 per adult and £2.50 per child and the large cups of animal feed are 50p each. Manorafon is smaller than we expected but is well thought out and the animals are obviously well cared for. Walking along the path between the animal pens, the girls particularly enjoy feeding the goats and alpacas. Next we go into the barn and the girls get to hold some baby chicks, stroke rabbits and feed baby lambs. Before we leave, the girls wash their hands (plenty of sinks available) and play on the new park. We also take the girls pictures while they sit on a tractor. Eldest child is not so happy about this but the younger two thoroughly enjoy themselves!
My parents have arrived so once they have unpacked they join us for tea. The kitchen in Lavender Cottage has everything we need and the cooker is easy to use. It is still lovely and warm outside so the girls play football on the field next to the duck pond. We have a lovely, relaxing evening in the cottage then my parents go off to the pub. The girls are happily playing in their rooms and after a quick tidy round, we settle down to watch a CSI marathon.
