We love to hear about our guests experiences of North Wales while staying with us here at Pen-y-Bryn. Some places to eat have had many great reviews over the years, so here are a few of the best eateries around, chosen by the people that really matter – you!

Hickory's Smoke House, Rhos on Sea, offers an 'Authentic American Barbecue' dining experience for the whole family. Their menu's are typically American with racks or ribs, buffalo wings, traditional milkshakes, bourbons and cocktails all taking pride of place. Bodnant Garden Welsh Foods in Conwy are a 30 minute drive from Pen-y-Bryn and are home to the Hayloft Restaurant and Furnace Tea Room. All of the food served up, which includes mouth watering meats, fish and cheese, is either locally sourced or freshly made on the premises. Signatures in Conwy offer a theatre style kitchen so that you can watch the kitchen team prepare their 'Modern British Cuisine.' Their menu has something for all tastes including curries, steak and fish. Everything is freshly prepared and made on the premises and only 25 mins from our cottages. The Plough in St Asaph offer 'good honest food' with homemade daily specials and a speciality Roast on a Sunday. They also offer a choice of eating in their Restaurant, Lounge Area or Cosy Bar. Departure Lounge in Abergele are close to Pen-y-Bryn Farm, at only 10 minutes away from us. They offer a range of sandwiches including paninis and baguettes, a tapas and grille menu and a sunday lunch menu. The Kinmel Arms in St George delight in serving fantastic local fish and meat. Desserts are all made in their kitchens from the purest ingredients. Their menu at lunch is of a Brasserie style, with ‘A la Carte’ style in the evenings. They use the freshest ingredients they can find and serve them in a modern but creative way. The George and Dragon pub in Abergele is a 5 minute drive from our cottages and farmhouse. Recently refurbished, their new dishes including hunters chicken, mixed grill, daily specials and homemade desserts. The Bistro Restaurant in Rhyl is perfect for a special occasion. They offer a high end menu including specialist meat and fish dishes. They are open for evening diners, Tuesday – Saturday from 5.30 pm and for Sunday lunch from 12-3pm. They also have a strict dress code that diners must adhere to. For something completely different, Characters in Llandudno is a 30 minute drive from Pen-y-Bryn Farm. This quirky little place is a teahouse, restaurant and curiosity shop all rolled into one. Call in for a leisurely afternoon tea or cook your own steak on volcanic rock in the evening, just remember to bring your own bottle (no corkage fee).
